Dizziness

The Vestibular system in your ears controls the rapid eye movements you must constantly make to view an object as you move through space. If the vestibular system detects you are moving in one direction, it will immediately send signals to your eye muscles to move in the opposite direction to keep that object in view stable on the retinas. If not, the objects will seem to move and jump causing a visual sense of imbalance or vertigo.  Thus disruptions in the vestibular ocular reflex (VOR), causes impaired balance and disrupts the fine stabilization that your eyes require. Vestibular problem may require evaluation by an otolaryngologist or other specialists in vestibular disorders and therapies and/or medications to control the symptoms.
